    Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

I missed this on it's initial run, but luckily it's still playing in rep theatres. Very excited to catch it.

Who's seen it, what did you think? How does it compare to the original with Obi Wan, and the original book?

I loved this new version. Very gritty, very real. Gary Oldman is phenomenal, and should have won the Oscar.
At the end, you are convinced that real life spies lead a terrible life and that James Bond is a cardboard character...

Btw, the sets and costumes are pieces of art...

I'll echo the same- I liked this version better than the first (though I've never read the book). It really takes you into what a crappy life most spies must have. The performances are top-notched- not understated, but delivered in a way that's extremely believeable and very, very real. And the costumes and set brilliantly take into the time period. I might have enjoyed that almost as much as the story.

I definitely need to check this out. With a cast like that, it should be a classic. Seriously, every one the have listed on the cover is great.

I enjoyed it a great deal. Seems like there was a few of these kind of things in the seventies where you get to find out what James Bond's bosses get up to. Incredible cast... Funny that Sherlock was essentially playing Gary Oldman's Watson!

Anyone a fan of The Sandbaggers? "the special relationship" was kind of at the crux of this film as well.

You can hardly recognize "Sherlock" in this movie, he sure can change his looks.
The Sandbaggers is new to me, never heard of it...
