Depends on the DVR. If the DVR has one tuner, you can only record one thing, more recent DVR's have 2 or more tuners. What brand/model is yours?

    It all depends

I have a DVR box from my cable company and the guy who set it up said only record 1 show at a time.

He also said it could hold roughly 40 hours of shows.

From what I can find, your unit has 2 tuners which allows you to record 2 things at once (while watching either one) or record one thing and watch another.

I'd check up on yours too. Most cable companies provide DVR's that can record 2 shows at once.

the biggest problem I have found so far is the time is set through the cable line I'm thinking , can't find anyway to change it.And the shows I've recorded end a couple mins before they are over.
