Are all TV stations in cahoots with one another ?

When i'm watching a TV show and a commercial comes on.....
Like many people, I surf ........
Only thing is EVERY station runs commercials at the exact same time.

Just wondering if it's a global conspiracy

TBS was pretty cool back in the 80's -- starting their show's at 5 minutes before the hour ........ But today, it seems even TBS has been taken over by the brain slug

Forgive my rant -- but with one million channels, how do they all seem to go to commercial at the same time ?

Sitcoms and the such are broken into 15 minute segments, since the shows start the same time its logical the commercials would hit at the same time.
