was this your first Time D? anyways this is how true filmaking is done shot in Panavision widescreen 2:35.1 ,great film score ,very good story and decent acting..John Carpenter was at his best when he didnt have to deal with studio BS and was a true Independent filmaker he's still one of my idols as a Director /Composer .Great Film! shot the whole film in 1979 for only $900,000 creativity over $$$ that kind of $$ wont even buy you a prop in todays so called movie making business that just seems to waste $$ and the delivery crappy product

I wont watch any of Carpenters work thats been remade or reimagined or whatever!

One of my favorite music pieces from the film

This is a fantastic movie! The Score made the movie in my opinion. Made it that much scarier just like Halloweens Score.

Don't watch the remake of the "Fog". Garbage movie!

Yeah D it's a great movie,i love it,scored the dvd for a shiney english pound a few weeks ago and have to agree Adrienne Barbeau is hot too.

The remake with Tom Welling was pretty rubbish, not really scary at all, unlike Carpenters version.

The remake started out with possible potential, but then turned into absolute garbage. There is a reason no one mentions it anymore. They also sort of changed the plot as well which made it even dumber

One of my top 10 favorite movies, just missed the top 5. I got the imported Blu-ray and it looks pretty good. The remake doesn't have near the atmosphere that the original did.

                  That movie is awesome.

It totally blew me away as a kid. As far as scariest childhood movies (off the top of my head), it was The Fog, Jaws, and The Shining (those images were quite shocking for a young'un). Oh, and Grizzly ('cause I lived in the mountains, that movie is poop now).

Upon rewatching it recently though, I was kinda bummed how they over-explained the story in the second half, taking away the creep factor. It would have been much more scary if they had left it mysterious, so anytime you see a fog roll in you think there may be malevolent ghosts in it. By giving it such a specific story to that area it took away some of the scare, but that's just me being nitpicky.

The kid and the fog at the door scene is one of my favorites. And the score is unmatched even still.

I cannot even watch 10 minutes of the new crap. ugh.

                    Hmmmm....

The original's pretty good. The new one.... if you make it to the end.... is kinda baffling.

Pretty funny line considering the context! Anyway The Fog is one of those movies they just don't make anymore and its a great pirate film too. The remake was about 3 minutes away from being a good scary movie but it ended up leaving me with one of the worse feeling ever after the end.

Carpenter's "The Fog" is a great movie. One of his best.

But the remake is absolute swill, and should be avoided at all costs.

Not one of my favorite Carpenter flicks, but I respect his body of work more than most directors.

I thought the remake was a big waste of my time and money. Sad to say I saw it at the theater. Just a horrible product.

Loved the original, didn't like the remake at all.
Carpenter made one great film after the other in those days.

Love the original. The beginning with the ghost story told by John Houseman and the kids listening on the beach is awesome! Gives me goosebumps!
