Yeah i agree with that. Any jerk who even brings up feedback should be kicked off for extortion.

With that said, of course there are the scumbags who abuse the system.
I get that too. I actually have a claim in right now for a hockey jersey I bought. When it arrived the crest on the front was threadbare in spots. I asked the seller if I could send it back and exchange it for one that wasn't damaged and they said fine so long as I included $12 for a restocking fee. I wouldn't have minded paying the return shipping but I was like,
'Why should I have to pay for restocking when you sent me a damaged product?" To which they replied they're just a middleman.

In the case with the Mad Clowns, this guy didn't bother opening a claim. If he had, the shipping wouldn't have fallen on me regardless of what he decided. Ebay would have taken care of it if he didn't. But he insisted I send him the money so he could return the figures and I refused. What really gets me is he didn't even bother about a claim even after complaining about the figures, which apparently he's keeping despite being so disappointed with them..

They didn't change the extortion policy. I am simply saying that the seller doesn't have to pay the return fees. The buyer in this case is basically saying, "give me all of the money back & I keep the product or I give you a negative and try to screw you over with Ebay and making the top seller status."

I would love to know this guys ID so I can block him, if you care to PM it to me.

I've been on the buyer's end of that a few times, and I don't like having to eat shipping b/c of a seller's mistake / fraud. A few months ago I bought 2 comic lots that arrived in much worse shape than described (e.g. "excellent condition file-copies!" = VG-F). I asked for a refund, but first asked for the purchase price + shipping + return shipping up-front, as I didn't trust the seller to reimburse me after the fact. He declined; I disputed; I won & got a refund & kept the comics. Glad e-bay is addressing the shipping issue. I would've been happy to return the comics.

also if you are in the uk and you are buying from the usa- then to post the item back is going to cost you nearly the same as you are going to be refunded

If you got your money back, you should have returned the comics. Keeping both was wrong. Condition is a very touchy thing, since a lot of it is subjective depending on the person. Two people will grade the same book differently, and while some sellers are dishonest, some buyers are also extremely picky to the point of being anal.

It's not just Ebay, I had this guy:

Richard Aleong who goes by "kato" in some circles orders something from my Ecrater store late Sunday. I got back into town on Tuesday afternoon (it was a long weekend), pack the item the next day and boom, he's filing a charge back on me! It's been two business days!

He claims he's been emailing me but I have nothing, so I just decide I'd rather not do the deal with such a hot head and refund his money. He leaves me a negative.

The stupid part? he would have had the item the next day because I was going to use next door courier (i do that in the GTA).

What's funny is, I know this guy and plan to bring it up to him at the next show i see him at.
