I really don't want a comedic version of this like Green Hornet was. Couldn't they find a Native American to play Tonto rather than stunt casting Depp?

Depp has surmised that he is part Native American, saying in 2011, "I guess I have some Native American [in me] somewhere down the line. My great-grandmother was quite a bit of Native American, she grew up Cherokee or maybe Creek Indian. Makes sense in terms of coming from Kentucky, which is rife with Cherokee and Creek."

IMO...he's NOT Native American...he's not immersed in the culture, he's very vague (can't decide whether his great-grandmother was part Cherokee or Creek)...and he's not affiliated/registered in any tribe...so no...the dude is not "injun"...lol.

But, as long as he himself says he's part Native American...and considering he's one of the biggest (if not the biggest) movie star in the world...the casting of Depp as Tonto makes sense...

So far so good. I like the war paint on Depp. I'm guessing, but I suspect that paint may be a plot point which states if the Ranger has to be masked, why shouldn't Tonto? Don't they both have something to protect on either side of the trail? I have no doubt he will have plenty of paint free moments in there, so I doubt this is his look 24/7. I imagine too that the outfit on the Ranger is an early evolution of what is to come. This has me hungry for a lot more pics though.
It's not how hard you hit, but how hard you can be hit and still move forward.

His great-grandfather was tycoon Armand Hammer and he was named after him. No joke!

BTW, with Hot Toys' love affair with both Depp and Disney, I'm expecting them to deliver a couple 1/6 figures of these guys. Might be cool!

Depp is one of my favorite actors and the man can own a role.

I love the Lone Ranger character and loved Clayton Moore in the role of the masked man.

I hope this movie turns out to be a good one.

Hammer looks like a bad-*** as the The Ranger.

The event where the fans are separated from the true fans.
