So true, and one really cannot tell whether something is actually going to come out based on the previous track record of a manufacturer/brand manager.
Just look at the JLU line from Mattel. Single protos from the "lost wave" sold for several hundred dollars each, with the thought that Mattel would never produce them. Then, out of the blue, Mattel announced that they are going to produce them! However, like you said, until they are actually for sale, I wouldn't clear space on the shelf for them.
Regarding the Buck Rogers line, all we can do is hope that previous history goes out the window and that we fans of the 8" figures will have them in our hands this time next year. Fingers crossed and no take backs.Type Two: The Mego body, not the disease.Comment

With the recent attitude about not releasing any Trek figures other than Kirk and Spock I am not going to get my hopes up about DST releasing any Buck Rogers figures. If DST Chuck likes taking chances Paul then see if you can persuade him to take one more chance and release Vina and Chapel.Comment

I was thinking the Vina figure may have been a better combination with the Pike release. And the Salt Creature w/ Chapel.
Another possibility for the Vina figure would be her w/ a "Miror Mirror" Urhura. Kind of a vixen set...

I think the Vina/Chapel combo was doomed from the start. Not enough "action adventure". I would certainly have bought a set, but I can understand that store owners would consider them peg warmers.
But I'll buy the Mirror Mirror ones. I'm still grateful for any additions on this line..

Craig, I assume, since we heard no news from you on these matters, DST still hasn't collected the reaming stock of Buck & Tiger Man figures from you?Comment

Actually DST did collect the remaining inventory but I haven't heard anything from them concerning their plans for the Buck Rogers line. However, they also have the prototypes that I put on display at the 2010 NYCC and the fact that they didn't show them at the 2012 Toy Fair in February makes me feel like the line might me dead. You would think that they would have had them on display to at least guage interest but apparently that didn't happen. Please keep in mind though that this is all speculation on my part. There's another Toy Fair in Dallas, TX happening next month so maybe they'll have the Buck Rogers figures on display there.Comment

I'll keep an eye out. If I see them, I'll see if they'll answer any questions.Bugler, sound the advance.Comment

Would it make sense to have the fans of the BR line bombarde DST with emails to show, that there is interest in this line?Last edited by Mefiboschet; Sep 28, '12, 2:20 AM.Comment
