This is a 7-Zark-7 figure. The only kind ever made,(?). I heard from someone in the know that this and his pet dog were released when Battle of the Planets hit American Television. This figure is almost 2x's as tall as a Kenner R2-D2. The pic is not mine. I grabbed this from the net. I have also seen pics on the net in metallic yellow.

This figure of 7-Zark-7 has been re-released from time to time in a set of cheap action figures named Airgam Boys. I managed to score one of these 3 years or so ago on eBay. It was shipped internationally from Germany I think. So set your auto-watch filter on eBay for Airgam Boys and see when another of these pops up because I don't think it's too often.

Toynerd website has pics of Zark & his dog in the proper colors:

I KNOW I didn't spend that much. I could see myself spending around $100.00. It actually retailed for under that amount back then (around $75 to $80.00), so I wouldn't have dunked $200. Purchases like that I would always wait until the show was closing or score them as an early bird deal before the show opened. So I likely scored a very good deal on it. I know one thing. After seeing what they go for today, I'm very glad I picked it up. I never thought BOP had a very strong market presence since those deluxe 12 inch figures hung around on comic shop shelves literally for years.

Now THAT is SWEET! Love those! Cool score! Wouldn't it had been cool if they made one that lit up and talked?

I've got the Jecsan 7 Zark 7, one was also done in France, along with a 1-Rover-1. I only have the dog but I'll post pictures tonight.

Joe was killed when he was shot in the head by Katse.

Yikes. No surprise that it was edited out of the US version.

In a scene we north American kids were shielded from due to network censorship, which of the original gatchaman Team was violently killed at the end of the first series? And how?

Who was Joe and Katse compared against the BOP characters?

What was the name of the replacement character in the second series?
                    Hawk Getz was Joe's replacement.

"Hawk Getz," huh? I never knew that, but then again I've never seen "Gatchaman II."

So, did Hawk have his own bird-suit? I can't find any pics anywhere... .

                              He wore Jason/joe's uniform.

My first exposure to Gatchaman II as a cartoon was in the 90's when a post Power Rangers Saban translated it for a North American audience. This was decades after I first freaked out at seeing the Gatchaman II Vehicles, weapons and space suits in a kid's magazine in Hong Kong and saw Gatchaman Fighter on TV at my grandmother's.

That is nuts! Thanks for the pics Samurai. I looked up what happens to Hawk and...yeah, good to see that Condor suit filled up by the right guy, even he is a cyborg kinda version of you-know-who.

Hey, a "Condor Attacker" was one of the first things I bought from eBay back in 1998 or so. I had no idea there even was a "Gatcha 2" until years later.
