MALIBU, Calif., Feb. 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kids Only!®, a division of JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq:JAKK), has signed a license agreement with Alpha International, Inc., to manufacture, market and distribute The Original Big Wheel Ride-On toys.

Kids Only!(R), a division of JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAKK), will bring back the iconic Original Big Wheel Ride-On toys at major retailers nationwide this summer.

Kids Only's new line of Big Wheel® Ride-Ons is expected to include the 9" My First Big Wheel, the 11" Big Wheel Sidewalk Screamer and the 16" Big Wheel Spin Out Racer. Each boys and girls Big Wheel Ride-On will capture the iconic look and feel of The Original Big Wheel.

We are excited to build on this classic brand and introduce this iconic toy to a new generation of young children," said Ron Cohen, President of Kids Only. "We are also excited to announce that our Big Wheel toys will be manufactured in the U.S.A., which will create hundreds of new jobs and give each Big Wheel a 'Made in America' stamp of approval."

Kids Only's new line of Original Big Wheel Ride-Ons are expected to launch at all major retailers this fall.

I never had one. Every time an adult version comes out, they sell out of it so fast I don't have time to pull out my debit card! It would be nice if parents actually bought these things and let their kids play outside. I miss seeing a neighborhood full of kids on Saturday afternoons pedalling around on them. Now if another adult one would come out again, so I could join them!

I never had one either, and it bummed me out! I wish I could fit on my daughter's, cuz I'd be tooling around on that thing every chance I got.

There have been a bunch of releases just not using the "Big Wheel" logo. They all had big wheels.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

We used to wear a huge hole in the back tire from slamming on the brake so much to spin out...can't wait to see these hit the stores so I can buy one for the boy.

The Green Machine has been back for several years. It's more of a bicycle/big wheel hybrid now, though. More metal.

Man, I rode my large Big Wheel up and down the sidewalk until I was at least 9. That thing would spin out like a dream. My buddy used my sister's, and the brake would stick. It would invariably throw him out and into the yard. Good times. Lots of gravel dust!!! We figured out you could actually put gravel IN the hollow body of the Big Wheel and get a better spin-out, sound, and more dust that way!!!

Oh damn, I thought they might use the original molds from the 70s (as was used with the Krazy Kar reproductions released in recent years). This Big Wheel is all new. Pass.
