    Metal Men Deal

Wow, six Metal Men figures for $10? Where do I sign up?
For those not in the know, Metal Men were a series of funky Diecast Metal Robot figures that had no back story (you had to use your imagination). They have a bit of a following now and don't come cheap mint on card sadly.

Loved them! I was hooked the day I saw them (Walgreens 1978 I think)
We had pieces floating around until I was well into high school... Those catalogs are so bad arse!

I used to be babysat at my grandparents shoe store every saturday (I know, lucky me) and the hobby store across the mall sold these.

My mom or dad used to give me a two dollar bill to squander and the Metal Men were cheap enough that I could get one. They would then have amazing adventures in a shoe store stock room.

I love me some Metal Men!

I still have mine from when I was a kid - the cool metallic blue saucer is around here somewhere.

Always preferred the space guys to the construction/military guys.

And Radon served well as a "mini-ROM"...

Radon is one of the coolest Metal Men IMO, although I think Corporal Chrome is cool in an offbeat kind of way.

Same here, I had him and Sargeant Silver (whos little clear visor lasted about 30 seconds)... My only gripe was that these guys were too heavy for my Micronauts Battlecrusier's eject seat
I would love to have all these guys back one day...

Is THAT what they were called?!?!? I had the one with the Sky Sled when I was growing up and I always thought he was part of the Micronauts line! ANOTHER one of my childhood mysteries solved by the fine folks on the Megomuseum message Boards!

An earlier discussion here solved that mystery for me too, Captain Slinky. Our next door neighbor gave me one as a Christmas gift in 79 or so. He quickly became the arch-enemy of my Pocket Super Heroes, and a hero called...Robotman! This was before I knew of the DC characters by that name.

I still remember the heft of that figure. I wonder what ever became of mine...?

Somewhere, in a storage box, the Space Ship and Space Saucer still reside. The figures broke a number of years ago, but the ships survived. Yeah, I loved 'em quite a bit, and they went very well with my Micronauts. Thanks for the link to that catalog. Answered a question about the Skulldragger that I'd had for years.

I know this is an old thread and somehow got by me.

But I'm in the market for a Radon with saucer Metal-Man.

I use to have Radon with the sled and one was up on the bay with BIN option. By the time I clicked on it it was sold. Too slow.

Anyone on here have the set with the saucer for sale or leads on getting one.
