I'm still kicking myself for missing out on this:

    Product Description

Cast-a-Way toys presents it latest variant of the Phantom who walks... From the daily pages of your favorite newspaper comes the Duo Toned Phantom or "Dalies" version! The Monochromatic version is just a painstakingly crafted as previous variations on the Ghost who walks... This Mr. Walker has the feel and look of his newsprinted counterpart and is sure to please. With new artwork by the Mego Museum's own Chris Franklin, this limited edition figure will likely go fast! If you have the "Sunday" color version of this figure you know how good it really is. You won't miss out on this one folks, like the daily print it'll be here and gone just as quickly...

Does the 'Dailies' Phantom use the exact same suit as the FX Phantom?

^^^ Yep. Same one. We talked about this at the Cincy Meet Saturday. I managed to get every variant of the Phantom there was when you could still get them mostly for cost. Two exceptions were the scarlet and green Phantom. I think I paid $60.00 for the Scarlet and $40.00 for the green one. The Dailies Phantom was the hardest one to get because he was available for such a short amount of time. But I still got him at cost. There was alot of praise for Castaway at the meet too. Earth2Chris brought his AWESOME original artwork that was showcased on all of these backer cards. Great stuff. My hope is that Castaway will produce these figures again. I think there is a strong enough base of Phantom fans that there will always be a market for the character. It's just getting the word out to folks who want them.

It's not how hard you hit, but how hard you can be hit and still move forward.

Thanks Tom. I can't stress enough how great it was to work on these projects, and bring just a tiny bit to the great table Dave and Jason set. I hope to see more Phantoms, and that 8" Flash Gordon some day too.

Yeah I think that was my favorite of the various Phantom incarnations. The pulp vintage comic feel of the paper + Chris's art + the pale Phantom face was an awesome combo.

The great thing about the Mego Museum is that it often just takes patience. Other than the early bird, I passed on all the variants before the collector OCD kicked in and I had to get them all!

Luckily, they have all come up for sale within the past year or so either in the marketplace or mego meet (mostly the marketplace though).

All I need now is a couple of Phantom completers (belt, hands) so that I can actually set up my early bird and FX grey ghost for display!

I've seen the throne set comes up a couple of times as well and boy is that mighty tempting, but where would I find the room to display that?

I showed up late to the Castaway party. However, I too got bit by the bug and went nutz trying to find everything. It took nearly 2 years but at this point I have just about everything Castaway has ever released.

The throne by the way is Soooooo worth the space it takes up to display!!

Hang in there, most all of my Castaway stuff was purchased right here in the marketplace.

I have everything but Achmed, and the 'Dailies' and red suit versions of The Phantom.

(I could also use a few completer sets)

I love everything about these figures. The card artwork is simply perfect. There isn't one single thing I would change.

Does anyone know if there were any leftover card backs for the 'Dailies' version? I'd buy one of those, just for the artwork.

I really hope we see more Phantom figures from Castaway. I honestly think it's the only figure that I've ever bought that I was 100% satisfied with.
