Trying to figure out what this building set I had as a kid was.
It had plastic pieces that joined together through little slots. It was an actual “building”. You would build the building up then place cardboard window pieces on it with little pegs that were built into the slotted/frame pieces.

Only set I can think of is the one where you had these plastic "girders" that you assembled into a building...It even had an outside elevator that when up and down...But the set didn't have "walls" for the building, it was just the girders...I think the same company did a bridge set too...I don't know if this is the set you're thinking of though...

Thank you it was definitely a “girder and panels” set. I guess I remembered wrong. The panels weren’t cardboard but a flimsy plastic that stuck on the sides.

I had a girder and panel set specifically for my Mattel Godzilla to destroy.

I also had the Girders & Panels set. Had lots of fun with it until the holes started to wear out and the panels wouldn't stay on.
