Tardis Does anyone remember having these...?

I was racking my brain trying to remember what these things were, but it was my brother (who has a freakishly good memory) who put me on the path to enlightenment....

This was GREAT to find under the Christmas tree one year! My brother and I both had one! Mine, unfortunately, got trashed and my brother's got sold by his vindictive ex-wife!!!!

I also remember getting one of these on Christmas morning...

...and I remember playing with it so long on Christmas Day that it's batteries gave out!!!

    Ahhh---the good old days!!!
Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I had a few incarnations of vertibird (used to think it was called whirly bird). I used to love that toy

Yeah, they made a couple of different versions, I think one was even related to BATMAN, but I had the first and original Vertibird. Those little bitty remote control choppers you can buy today remind me of the VB, only with more mobility (since they're not attached to a wire and base)...

Major Matt Mason's SpaceCrawler was great (hence my name)! :D

VertiBirds were awesome too. Anyone remember the crank version with a bi-plane (I think it was also released by Mattel)? Been looking for one forever but can't find it.

I agree! I LOVED the Space Crawler, but I NEVER see them at any old toy or antique shows. Never looked for 'em on E-Bay, but they're probably out there...!

And THERE is one out there and can be yours for only $249.99!!! Looks like it's in GREAT shape! Ahhhh---if only I were a millionaire (or even a thousandaire)!!!

Was there a Star Trek version of the Vertibird? I seem to remember having that as a kid...

scroll down to the 2nd pic, the star trek one (and other variations) can be found on this page; even better is at the bottom of the page where you can find a link for a veribird PC simulator someone made
