Megomuseum News MegoMuseum Podcast: Interview with Ray Demato, warehouse manager

It’s a great mix of new vs vintage on today’s episode.*We not only discuss the new Bifbangpow announcements and World’s Greatest Toys author Benjamin Holcomb climbs aboard to discuss Figures KISS line *with us.* Ben then shares with us an interview with former Mego warehouse manager Ray Demato and wow, does this guy have a memory!

Some wonderful insight is given about the World’s Greatest Toy company. Show Recap:

Scott and Brian discuss all the wonderful things that BifBangPow has added to the Entertainment Earth site this week including Six Million Dollar Man, Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who items.

Brian remembers the Android Sisters mostly because they were on the Battlestar gum card series.

The sight of Oscar Goldman’s briefcase made both guys happy.

Listeners called in with some thoughts and reflections on the new KISS figures.

Benjamin did not share Brian’s enthusiasm for this film (Come on! Did you see Peter Criss kick Frankenstein?)

Auction Watch Segment Both the guys were drooling over this amazing Kenner Six Million Dollar Man Store Display on ebay

    In the Ray Demato Interview

Ray recalls that this electronic game by Mego had a lot of issues

He also mentions that these figures exploded

Ray Demato worked at the Bohemia, Long Island Warehouse that more than one Mego fan has made the voyage to this "Toy Mecca". The first person to attempt a visit was Mego collector John Bonavita with his "Tales of the Legendary Mego Warehouse visit"

Years later, Megoheads Dan and Bill make the trek and actually get inside the legendary facility

This is a long and fun one. Lots of geeky chat and a killer interview. Thanks to those who called in as well, we didn't get a chance to talk about the calls so they are just kind of inserted with no comment, but they are awesome.

Great podcast. God did I ramble or what? It's been a great week to be in the retro world. Lots of fun product and all coming soon.
It's not how hard you hit, but how hard you can be hit and still move forward.

I thought you did real well, Tom. Made some good points that we didn't think to discuss.

Yeah, I didn't mean to come across as putting down Tom's call, I was just more or less making fun of my ability to ramble.

^^^ Oh I caught that Brian! It's all good! Thank God your tape cut me off the first time Scott. I would have kept going if hadn't. I knew to stop on the second try. You spliced it together real well. The whole podcast was done really well. I enjoyed all of the personal KISS stories from your childhoods. Great stuff!

Yet another fantastic podcast! Thank you so much! If we can't have SMDM, BSG, or KISS (just yet) we have you guys. You are our retro methadone. I'm excited for the next one.

It was nice being able to hear our new fan-favorite Ramblin' Man: MIB141 (I swear I'm kidding). MIB141 you made the podcast even more fun. Now I know where that wonderful insight comes from.

ToymanChris was great too (in a previous episode). I hope you guys keep calling in.

If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

I really enjoyed this podcast! "Playing Star Wars Real Hard" is a phrase that I'm laughing over, but I knew exactly what Scott meant the second he said it.
