help finding a toy

HI I am trying to find a toy for a friend he had when he was a kid in the 70's. it was a kind of theater thing that had a black background that had 2 diff character you could put on the black plastic that you that you could control from the back of the toy to kinda do a puppet show one character was like a pinkish florescent Monkey was the main character he remembers.. he drew this as what it looks like all help would be appreciated ( he's tryin to buy toys from his childhood like most of us ) thanks

I wanted to add a little more info and clarify the item was in a picture like frame not a puppet type theater about the size of an 11x14 or so. The foam figure was almost flat on the background.
