    Removing Stains from Figures

I think I created a topic about this in the past, but couldn't find it. I think the product I was recommend was REMOVE-ZIT, but I am not sure.

My RC Batman has the blue stains on his face. My Batgirl has red stains on her face from her hair and I got a couple of old GI Joe's that have that odd gray/blue staining on their faces.

Would REMOVE-ZIT take care of them?

Yes, it probably will. I've used it before on GI Joe heads with good results. You just have to be careful with it (it's only meant for softer plastic like doll heads). Try it on a head that you don't care so much about just to test it. You have to leave it for a few days while it works but check on it periodically. It sort of bleaches the plastic and swells it up, but after you wash it off the "swelling" goes down. But you need to be careful because it can leave a light spot on the plastic. So monitoring it is critical.

take some benzoyl peroxide put some on the mark then place the doll under a lamp and leave it there for a few hours, repeat as necessary. you will start to see the mark fade away......It totally works

Does this only apply to heads? Would it work for their clothing to?

Rubbing alchol works great on getting the faces clean, I poor it on to a towel and just rub.Just wash it off afterwards.Oxy clean works great on the clothes, woollite works good too.

I use rubbing alcohol to clean figures often, but it's not doing a thing in the cases listed above.

Here is a link right here on Mego Museum about using this stuff on vinyl clothing.

Not sure about regular, but I've used Oxy-Clean with good results.

No, these things mentioned (bleach, Remov-Zit, etc) will bleach and probably destroy cloth. These are meant for softer plastic, like Babrie or GI Joe type doll heads, not cloth or hard plastic.
