That is something that I didn't even consider until you mentioned it and you know what, that's dead on. Now that you mention it, that irks me even more because Rapace's character was sooo weak to begin with. I'm not a big fan of Ripley because I think the franchise did not need her in every movie but that's exactly what they were trying to do here. ALIEN does not need a main character because the main character are the Aliens and yet Ripley had to show up in almost all of the films and I guess (I can't even recall the characters name) is going to be in a Prometheus sequel...meh. At least Ripley served some purpose in Aliens and could hold her own with the marines. She didn't start to suck until the third film and really that whole thing was a disaster. The Rapace character was really weak and annoying especially in the first half and I don't think she evolved as the movie went on, she just got less annoying. I guess aborting an Alien fetus growing at an alarming rate inside of you will do that but I didn't even realize she was the girl from the Dragon Tattoo until that scene. So far, I've seen her in two other movies since the Swedish Dragoon Tattoo series and there's something lacking. She's no Sigourney Weaver that's for sure and I can't see her holding her own as the main character if there's a second Prometheus.
