Here's an international trailer that gives a little bit more of the story and story set-up away:

The UK trailer is simply AMAZING! I can't wait for this movie. Emeraldknight and myself have been talking about this. Looks to be a big hit.
It's not how hard you hit, but how hard you can be hit and still move forward.

Will be checking out Prometheus later today.

Not fazed by some of the reviews so far being fairly bad.

Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I'm hoping, really really hoping this is going to be good as Ridley Scott is one of my favorite directors of all time. However, his last few movies have indicated to me that he is washed up. Again, I hope not. We shall see. As far as H.R. Giger... meh.

Well, I must say I was impressed.

First off, this movie looks great in 3D. There are some amazing shots of breathtaking vistas and suchlike which really come to life with the 3D process.

As for the story... I've seen a lot of negative criticism about the film over the last few days, and all I can figure is that those people were disappointed because they were apparently just hoping for another formulaic entry in the Alien franchise... which Prometheus certainly isn't!

I won't go into spoiler territory... but if anybody has been wondering exactly what the Space Jockeys were since we first saw them back in 1979... this movie answers those questions.

There are some very Lovecraftian themes of "denied primacy" in this film, as well as a dash of Chariots of the Gods.

Fassbender gives a great performance, and Theron looks hotter than I've ever seen her.

Like Ridley Scott said... the DNA of Alien is in this movie, but it's a very different beast.

    Recommended!

I won't spoil it by dissecting the movie (just yet).
All I have to say is, my emotions about it vary from disappointment to boredom to irritation about the gaping holes in logic.
I'll list my remarks later, when more people have had a chance to go see it.

Thanks for the input from both of you gentlemen. Sounds like this is going to be one of those movies you have to decide to see on it's own merits. Being a big fan of Ridley Scott, I'm willing to give it the benefit of a doubt and I really like the cast, so I'll have my fanny in the theater opening weekend...

I am expecting to enjoy it regardless of what the critics say. The trailer looks awesome and Ridley Scott has directed 2 of my top 5 favorite movies, actually 2 of my top 3, and he seldom disappoints me
