EMCE 8" Kiss?

In all fairness to Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley - they have built up the
KISS army and kept the KISS name in the public eye for over 30 years.

The license is high, but you know there is enough die-hard fans to buy
whatever you make. If I had the money to risk, I would definitely be
there.

If not BBP or EMCE I can't imagine who would be making Re-Mego Kiss action figures. I hope whoever it is does a real quality product because not being a fan of 12 inch figures ( though I had them ) this is one that I have wanted since I was a kid. Can't imagine that it would be Mattel though.

As much love as I have for the 8" format, I'm thinking the best chance of success for KIss figures in a nostalgia format is as replicas of the original Megos 12". Those are the ones old school Kiss fans remember best.

If the license is ridiculously high, then maybe the Hot Toys format at $300 bucks a pop is a potential avenue. It would be interesting to see if the Asian gray market ever tried to do something they might call "Gene's KISSED figures"

Here's a link giving a brief overview of KISS' merchandise empire. I don't see Gene giving away the KISS license for a nostalgic cause if the money isn't descent. I'm sure he would love the old time Mego tie-in, but only if he could make it lucrative.

I would like to see a 8" KISS set. I have the McFarl/Toy version. But they are just missing the megoish look to the them.

Gene Simmons owns the KISS merchandicing name and he actually had the choice of the size of the figure and he picked the Barbie doll 12 inch size back then when they came up with the MEGO-ish figure ideas back then.



He recently allowed Todd McFarline to make a bunch of KISS figures (you know the ones you see in boxes with the funny guitars, weapons and weird side kicks (later on with the Psycho Circus 2nd addition ones).


Those pieces of **** have been on my walls for years. I can't even give them away so they stay there.

There were a bunch of KISS rocker figures that were hard plastic that a bunch of rockstars have been doing since like Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper...etc.




This hard plastic LOVE GUN looks cool but you can't move them around like a MEGO.





As for a Mego type 8 inch figure, I really doubt Gene Simmons would allow something like that to be produced unless a major profit could be made.
You need to read Gene's book
and when you finish the book you will say to yourself, "yep there will never be such a thing as an 8 inch KISS mego-like figure in this life time"


As for KISS action figures. The only thing you are going to get (unless you know that BOSS dude really well) are modernized 12 inch figures. I'm not even sure if they are doing the Space Ace and Catman figure.
These new ones will be based on the Destroyer look. Sorry folks, no Mego size 8 inch. Sucks, oh well..

If Gene would stop being such a ****** we would have our KISS MEGO figures. I'm quite sure that they would be really nice and would sell very well outside of us MEGO collectors!

I would love to see these, but they would have to have either Ace and Peter's likenesses, or a generic sculpt, because there is no way in hell I would pay money for the imposters' likenesses.
