That is cool! I've never seen that either.
As an aside, it's incredible how something random - like cool picture of clouds - can cause such heated debates. I wanna just shrug it off and say something like "that's the crazy internets for you" - but for some reason it's hard for me to not be confused and concerned.
Pretty cool. The explanation is pretty thorough though. We live in a panicky, paranoid world. Move on.

Very nice picture. Anyone see video of that large dust storm in Nevada awhile back? (at least i think it was Nevada.) It literally covered the sky for miles. Would have hated to be in the middle of that...

Those are so cool! I vaguely remember seeing something similar to them when I was about 10 years old on a trip in Florida.
They just go to show you that Hollywood special effects STILL have nothing on God or Mother Nature when it comes to putting on a show!

Sometimes I think things like this happen to remind us what a beautiful and dynamic world we live in. A world we often ignore.
