Pending IGFA world record California Sheephead!

34.7lbs on a certified scale. This fish will be the new world record for this species of fish, taken by speargun... Many very experienced divers will go their whole lives and never see a fish even half this big. Truly the fish of a lifetime... Shot in 40ft of water and retrieved from a cave at depth, on one breath of air in my lungs... After he was officially weighed and submitted for the record, this beautiful fish was eaten by my family and closest friends with a few vintage bottles of wine at a very special dinner at my home. I am fortunate to be so truly blessed by mother ocean.

Happy Holidays to everyone and the best in all your pursuits and endeavors in the new year!

As they use to say on Bass Masters... That's a Big Fish!

Shame about the hole in the sidewall; maybe try a patch kit?
That fish is nuts. Granted I'm in the Gulf, but the ones around here don't get anywhere near that size, that's one damn impressive fish, congrats!

Beautiful fish, did you spot him out first, then go back down?

Saw his white chin sticking out of a hole. Looked down at the watch; 1 minute 44 seconds at depth. Hmmmnnnn-- Ok, go for it. Swam over towards him, he swam out to greet me and made the biggest mistake of his life, when he turned broadside about 12 ft from me... A gift from the sea for sure.

Seems to me that you're the predator... and the fish is the ugly mother******
