Slang Words (What Are Kids Saying ?)

I just turned 36 the other day, so I know that I'm getting on but I just don't understand kids today, my kids.
They have all these things that they say like:

    en'i(t) - Isn't it
    dark - That's Bad
    sick - That's Good
    I'm Stoked - I'm Excited
pump - As a put down as in "you pump" - Meaning Pumpkin
shifin - "he's was shifin up dem stairs man" - Shifting

And any sentence that has the words "That's like SO..."

I don't think that we should all speak like Shakespeare or the Queens English, but listening to someone shouldn't make your ears bleed, unless it's Heavy Metal Music.

So is there any street talk that makes you want to kill ?

The other day my kids said they didn't want to go to a certain place because there was a bunch of "Emo's" there.

I thought they meant little kids...like Elmo or something.

Apparently though, an "Emo" is an emotionally unstable person....they were referring to Goth kids.....not that there's anything wrong with Goth mind you.

Slang doesn't bother me so much, but I pretty much want to shoot Sportscenter on a daily basis because of some subnormal athlete that gets shoved in front of a microphone and proceedes to say, "you know" dozens of times during the course of a 2 or 3 minute interview. Gaaahh!

My kids love to say, "that's tight!" to say "that's cool"

I've heard "stoked" back when I was a kid. I hear "Oh snap" from my nephew a lot. What will those young whipper-snappers come up with next?

The one I've heard recently is "What, what"
I am told it means "what was that you just said." ....
To which I reply my foot is hungry and it only eats @$$3$.
