    Vintage Toy Photographer?

    I saw this link:

Portrait of a Collection DIY Inspiration | Apartment Therapy San Francisco

I am asking if anyone has photographed their Mego, Star Wars, or other figures this way? I would very much like portrait style photos of the Vintage Star Wars and Mego figures. I think this would be a nice way to highlight your vintage toy collection.

    Anyone?

Yeah, I loved the idea ever since I saw that a few weeks ago. I can not get it out of my head. I love the photographer's use of lighting. I also like how every figure's head is in the same location no matter how tall the figure is. Very, very nice.

This way you can put your figure up on a shelf or put away out of light and still display your collection. My wife likes to open every window in the house and I sometimes worry that it might fade many items in collection.

I found this guy who does more than what I need. I just want photos of the figures with out all the extra stuff. Getting close to what I am looking for. He does sell a poster that is kind of neat.

Because I was saddened about the number of gay toys forced to stay in the closet - I called it "Hey Sailor"

The Burden of Toyhood #4 by Tylerham, on Flickr

    Description

'Hey Sailor' may in fact be my most socially relevant photo so far in this series. I feel very fortunate to have captured this brief moment in time.

Even though it is the 21st century, there is still in some circles, a prejudice against gay toys. In the Early 80s, the reign of 'masculine' toys such as He-Man and Transformers pushed most secretly gay toys even further into the toy closet.

In this capture, we see two such toys, reaching out to each other, but dare not touch.

"Why doest anybody see the real me?" cries Gung Ho. "I was sculpted with no shirt and a leather vest for christ-sakes! And the camo pants.. come on people.. accept me!"

Just because they dont have hearts (I know because I took one apart and nope.. nothing there) doesnt mean they shouldnt be allowed to feel love like the rest of us.
