If this item is sold to someone in another country, and customs open the shipping box...only to find another (empty) shipping box inside....
And the outer box will look much more attractive than the one inside...

I can imagine customs sending you a letter: "We're sorry to say that the item you bought seems to have been stolen. Our apologies. We threw away the empty shipping box inside..."
    .
    .
    .
    "Everything has an end.
    Except sausages, which have two..."

Heck ya. It's nice that it is even on display. The right person comes along and they might be able to work out a deal. I would think that it's perfect for the guy who has everything.....right NewForce?

I love collecting mego figures and I even extended it to mego figures still in their original packaging ...and I might even extend to wanting a mego display case (the graphic counter top type ). But to pay "anything" for a cardboard box ... Well I have no desire what so ever I am afraid, but maybe someone does?

I'd rather buy a new 400hp crate engine with that money...

I own an original shipping box from the Lincoln Monsters, wouldn't sell it for 3k. To each, his own.

There are a couple of guys who collect vintage SW shipping cases over at Rebelscum, and I've got to tell ya when you see them stacked up all together it's pretty wild.

I have a 60's Lincoln International Batman toy shipping box, and I wouldn't sell that for $3K either. $4K though and it's yours! (Mental note: Send Brian a pic of this box)

A full box would get him some serious money. But an empty box is really something he should start with a low price and see where the diehards take it.
It's not how hard you hit, but how hard you can be hit and still move forward.

I guess this box should be filed under: You never know...

As I mentioned in another thread- there is also someone trying to sell a lot of custom made Hot Wheels for 1 million $$. He says they are made by an artist who feels that is what his work is worth- they are ok customs and i can only guess this guy is waiting on someone with wayy more money than he knows what to do with. Ebay item:
270541324915 and no, it's not me!! Scroll down the listing to see the pictures.

So, what would you pay for an original but used Mego box? $50? $100?

Personally, I would not pay anything for the box because it simply has no appeal to me- but if he really wanted to sell it, why not start the auction at $1.00 and see where it goes?

A month ago I sold something on ebay and packed it up in a box I've had in my closet for years. Just before I taped it up I realized it was the shipping box from those theater exclusive Luke Jedi figures they sent to movie theaters when Jedi was rereleased in '97 so I kept it thinking the box is probably worth more than the figure these days. You never know....especially with Star Wars guys!
