    Lasersonics?

Was 'Lasersonics' some toy Mego planned on making for the Micronauts?

The USPTO indicates it was a toy gun, with a trademark application by Mego in '78.

    Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)

It is possible they simply trademarked the name, to protect it for future usage but hadn't developed any concrete product to go with it.

Thanks. I thought of been a name for a laser gun or something.

"Lasersonic" was also used by Marvel Comics for some of the Micronaut weaponry. I'm uncertain, however, if Marvel's Micronaut writers developed the name, or if Marvel got it from Mego's creative folks.

I remember seeing that word in the ephemera at the bottom of the publisher's info on the front page of the Micronauts comics. Always wondered what it referred to, toy-wise. Thanks.

Amazing! I've never had the chance to see that catalog first hand. Thanks for the image!

Seems that it never made it into production from Mego.

Michel Golden made the Micronauts' lasersonics look just like that too! Very nice!
