I can't blame the seller too much. He's just doing what he does. Once these get outside the circle of Mego collectors who know better they are pretty much just objects that can be bought and sold like anything else. The buyer is a fool if he wants to spend that much money without doing the research to see that they can be had for free with a little effort.

I just hope the seller didn't get them by becoming a memeber here or from his "friend" here only to get them and sell them.

I agree. Christmas time or not how can you feel sorry for this buyer, they were willing to pay about $5.00 per card. That means the table at Mego Meet last year was worth about $80,000.00. As they say, "A fool and his money are soon parted." Wasn't long for this fool to be parted with $152.00. Should we email him and tell him these cards are given away for free to our members. If someone does be sure to wish him a Merry Christmas!!

I am sure even the seller's jaw dropped when he saw this. He started the auction at $9.99. Like I said before, Scott has a licence to print his own money here. Sell a ton of them and finance an actual Mego Museum in Wheeling!!!

The amount they went for doesn't surprise me that much. In the past they've brought as much or more in a few auctions. Even when they first came out I remember a single Spidey going for $50 and at that time there were plenty to go around.

I'm sure the seller laced the cards with crack for the buyer.

The seller is not the fool here. It's the buyer.

It's funny to me I guess. I tried to get any of the cards and had 2-3 people going to send some to me but I guess they got lost in the mail . The cards on ebay where given to somone and then they sold them. I was just trying to get a complete set for a friend that LOVES mego. and because I don't collect 8" MEGOs I was blackballed by the " click" and no one sent anything. I caused a rift in the universe by asking to many questions about why you can't buy a set completed as a gift.
If you ever want them to stop selling them , use common sense , and make them easier to get by members new and old like. Put a sticky on all the boards telling new members about the cards instead of having to fish around for answers. There's ten thousand banners about them being " free" but no sticky or anything telling new members or buyers on ebay how to get them. Even better go to the EBAY boards and post about the cards and EDUCATE the ebay buyers.
Next time you get some printed let me know and I'll send a couple hundred bucks and surely I will have tons of cards to send to NEW members without jumping through hoops.

rant over..let the piling on begin..lol
