I used to like Wendy's chili

Their hamburgers were meh ... to me they tasted like homemade fried on stove burgers (not a good thing)

I don't care for the McRib, but my other half absolutely LOVES them. We usually hit McD's about once or twice a month. When the McRib comes to town, we're there about once a week until they're gone.

As for the pricing, McD's is like any other place that serves fast food, some items are more expensive than others.

When we both buy meals (w/large fries & large drinks) it comes to about 15.00 in total. When we're not "starving" or otherwise over indulging, we can get by for about 10.00 in total. Most sandwiches are 5.00 or less, and then there's always the value menu.

I don't see how McD's can be singled out for being any different from any other fast food joint, pricewise. Everyone's prices are up on their higher end offerings (it's called a recession) however they all offer value menu items for those who are on a tighter budget.

For those of us who perform our own grocery shopping, we've all noticed that packages are smaller, volume is lower, and prices are up. It's nothing new, it's been happening incrementally over the course of the past several years.

Any standard roach coach usually has a McRib style burger that usually tastes almost exacly like the McDonalds one -- sometimes better

Don't get me wrong...I'd rather go to Five Guys myself and have no problem paying a lot more either...I'm just comparing the cheapie burger joints...and find McDonald's the best choice for me...since I don't like Wendy's or Burger King...Burger King burgers are a lot bigger than McDonald's...but they taste like gas fuel to me...must be that flame broil machinery they cook them in with.

That's why I prefer In N Out...they are fresh and a healthier burger...but I have to drive across Oakland...for there's only one In N Out in my city...and it's always packed...and they are cheaper than Five Guys.

Five Guys is slowly moving into California...and its intention is to compete with In N Out...

The closest Five Guys to me is 25 miles away...hopefully one opens in my city.

How is Five Guys? We just moved to a neighborhood that has one less than a mile away and I work near one. Haven't had time to pull the trigger...are they really worth the hype? I love a great burger..

Considering right now i'm eating Ramen noodles a McRib sounds pretty tastie at the moment

Mikey I love Top Ramen...I usually boil up two packages and that's a great meal! The ugly step-child of Pho'! If we have frozen veggies lying around I will toss those in as well.

Sweet...the new house is without a range vent hood for the gas stove so we've had to eat out every night..it gets repaired Wed so I may just have to get it tonight for dinner!

Perhaps its the BBQ sauce that gives it that greasy taste? Being that I really enjoy BBQ I really would like to like these but there's just something not right about them. Such a strange texture to the 'meat' as well.

I have no use for Wendy's burgers. Those are the absolute last burgers on Earth I would ever resort to eating.

Not that I eat at McD's but you can eat a full meal there for far less than $8.......

If your stomach is tough enough you can have a meal at White Castle for even less. The only hamburgers known to mankind that "repeat" on a person.
