How about these then? I remembered them from the Heroes World catalogs. I vaguely remember seeing a pair of Cap socks once that looked something like the ones in the first pic. I have no idea what company made these.

I think those may be them. I don't remember the band of color at the top, but the Batman art really strikes a memory chord. I'd love to see a pair again, but it hard to imagine many survived.
