    ToyShop Magazine 1988-2008 RIP

Pretty sad, I was with TS from issue one and can't begin to mention how many toys I purchased, things I learned and contacts I made from this terrific magazine. I was even on the (as a freelancer) payroll for a while. Farewell TS, you will be missed.....

    That's a shame.......

Toyshop was big part of my collecting life back in the day.
For a long time--- Toyshop was my Megomuseum, ebay etc...

I'm actually surprised they lasted this long--- with the internet and all.

Its a shame that mags like this fall by the wayside and there seems to be 3 or 4 new "celeb" or "women's/men's" mags out every week...I only managed to get a few issues of this but it was a good read...it will be missed.

I used to take my read copies and leave them in Doctor's offices and my son's gymnastics center hoping people would become intrigued and subscribe. I noticed that the issues would go missing and diecast car catalogs would appear so I guess somebody liked them.

I still remember-- a long time ago ......
Toyshop-- I think it was them --- did an article about a factory in my little town.
Total surprise to me until I bought the magazine.
The factory makes molds for industrial machinery today, but I never knew they used to make toy soldiers like 50 years ago
I wish I still kept that issue.

Sad news. It was my toy bible before Ebay. Now I wish I hadn't thrown all my old copies away. Would have been fun to look back through.

I miss what Toy Shop used to be. I was a regular from 1991 through about 1997. When I was in Madison in 94-95, I used to race to the comic shop the day it came out and speed read through the ads. We got it before just about anybody else b/c we were so close to the publisher.

After that, it wasn't all that interesting, an infrequent article worth reading. It's like it died 10 years ago and is just now being officially announced.
