eBay sucks...that's why I would rather sell my stuff here...there are no fees to pay..so I can ask for lower prices for the stuff. And give the members a better price..it makes me sick to my STomach to pay their bull**** fees

Looking for Rm Robin,Loose Remco Phantom. mailer boxed figures, falcon Ledy,
I still get great deals on eBay.., just have to wait for a few months, but I typically get some super deals. Been doing it for 17yrs..
Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.
As it is right now, my eBay fees are higher than the amount I made in sales this week and the rest of my stuff is showing no signs of being sold. Oh and one the winners has zero feedback (I forgot to use the block feature)...so I am sure I will not see the payment.
I've been very careful with ebay. I will only list what I know will sell. I've also started to increase my shipping charges to cover some of the inflated costs. I look at it as a cost of business and still consider it far cheaper than having a toy shop or setting up at a flea market or toy show. Most of the good flea markets in my area will cost about $50 a week for a 10 x 10 spot. I still haven't hit a $200 fee month on ebay and I use all my 50 free ones each month and usually more. They definitely have neutered the seller by removing the negative feedback option.
GFY!!!
That's what I figure. .50 per listing is nothing compared to a $2,000 rent plus other monthly costs.
Yeah, it's 9% for auction-style or 12% for Buy it now. You have to be careful, though, because now they charge that percentage on the total amount charged including shipping (kind of like iOffer.com). If you're shipping something heavy, or far away, and it sells for cheap, you might just end up paying someone to take it off your hands after you account for the fees.
They have been offering 50 free auction-style listings per month for free, though. So if you work it right, you can still make a profit.
The downside is that, since there's no upfront costs, it encourages people to list everything at a ridiculously high starting price hoping they'll hit a jackpot. Before long, it'll start to look like Yahoo auctions.

For me and my experience on ebay for the past 12 years ( BOY things have changed ) you have to have strong, clear payment rules and follow them - it doesn't pay to be nice. My auctions have a pay in 4 day or "unpaid item notice will be filed". I send 2 invoices ( one at end of auction and one 2 days later ) and that's it. I've had a couple of buyers say they'll pay in a week if that's ok and I tell them it fine but as per the rules in the auction, and for my protection, I'll have to file the unpaid item notice after the 4 days and as long as they pay when they said it will be closed with no affect to them. I don't get into a long personal email conversation with them, keep it business and do all the communicating throught ebay. While I don't sell much anymore I haven't had any trouble since I've started being more business like. Unless they are just total jerks, if you keep the contact short and to the point it doesn't annoy them and cause them to leave neg feedback.

Unfortunately, I think everyone who has bought or sold on Ebay for years has heard every excuse. I realize life happens but there seems to be a higher than normal % of deaths, illnesses, acts of God, etc that happen immediately after a purchase or sale. I still remember years ago buying an item that was rare, got it for a really good price, and had my payment refunded to me with the response "Sorry, dog ate your item". It was by far, the lamest thing I have ever heard and told the seller to mail the item anyway and I would still pay full value for it. Response "Sorry, I threw it away and it is already in the dumpster." I seem to remember back when I was using Ebay in the late '90's, there weren't any deadbeats. Bidders paid promptly and sellers sent you the items in the exact condition as represented. Now, it seems like a bunch of hottenannies on both sides sellers and bidders. I pay promptly for all of my items and am floored by some of the feedback from sellers gushing over how fast I pay. Obviously, they have had their share of the prolonged illnesses and other excuses that is near impossible to call someone on for fear of the possibility that some of the stories are possibly true.
