Saw these at Newbury Comics & Toys R Us today. Just don't like all the paint. They don't seem Mego-like enough to me. Pike was a tough sell, too, but I had already started collecting the Trek figures, so I got him for completeness's sake.

I also resent the fact that these are Universal monsters and Drac's likeness isn't accurate. I know the rights issue isn't the maker's fault, but still...

Funny thing - I was at a comic shop today and a guy came in, picked up Dracula
and told the store owner that he thought it was great that the hands were the
regular pink hands. He said it reminded him of the old AHI monsters.

My jaw stayed on the floor for several minutes.

  5. With anything there will be people who like the toys and then there will be others that don't. Everyone is entitled to that. I feel it is great that we are getting all of these figures in 8 inch scale. Whether there were problems with bodies or whatever had it not been for Paul and others EMCE toys we would most likely have never seen 8 inch cloth superheroes or monsters again. So I just want to thank you guys for making dreams come true.

Without question this is a quality line. My only reserve is the line couldn't get wider distribution. It's certainly more deserving. Great work Paul and Joe!

I picked mine up at my local comic shop almost two weeks ago (and got a great deal on them), however I saw them at Toys R Us this weekend and was perturbed by the way they were stocked.

They were on a lower shelf (second from the bottom), stacked sloppily on top of each other, shoved inbetween Harry Potter 18" figures & the large Robot Chicken figures. I brought it to the attention of the manager, but had the impression he couldn't have cared less. I'm betting they are in the exact same state when I go back this weekend.

If interested, drmego, I took a picture with my phone. Just PM me and I will forward it to you.

My TRU had them promenantly displayed, and also had some Frankies and Wolfmen to go with them. I had to go thru a few Draculas, tho. Several had the medal fallen off and in the bottom of the bubble.
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday.

You guys are a merchandiser force

You have already done all that can be done - short of clearing off
a peg and hanging them yourself. You brought it to the attention
of the manager - it's his store. If he has classic monsters a month
before Halloween, and doesn't think it's worth it to display them
where customers can see them, that's his call.

The good news is that kids are short - they see them more
clearly down low than up high.
