1976 MEGO SUPERMAN All Original NRFP Mint on Card

    Sold For: US $199.00
    Ended:Aug 28, 20111646 PDT
Up for auction is a very nice, 1976 Mego Mint on Original Card (Never opened) SUPERMAN Mego 8 inch Action Figure. Figure is mint inside the package. No broken limbs and no greying. Card still has very nice bright yellow color. Unpunched hanger tab. Bubble is firmly selaed all the way around the card. There is a slight bend (reallly barely noticeable) on the upper right of the card. I have included many photo's of the figure but feel free to ask any questions. I would rate this piece anywhere between a C8/C8.5.

    77 Carded Superman
    Sold For: US $135.00
    Ended:Aug 25, 2011

Up for bids here is an item from my personal Mego collection. This is an original MEGO SUPERMAN figure still sealed on an unopened 1977 card! He is priced to sell so grab him while you can! YOU WON'T FIND A CHEAPER carded Mego Superman on E-bay so take advantage of my GREAT Buy It Now price! Go take a look at other carded Superman figures on E-bay right now and you'll see my price is THE BEST!

Bubble is still firmly sealed to the card. Card has some minor creasing/bends but nothing dramatic and these flaws can be seen in th pic above. You can see the crease on the back of the card in the photo. There is minor litho cracking on the back at the bend as well. The rest of the card is free of tears and rips as you can see. There is still a price tag on the upper right of the card which I will leave to the new owner to remove if they wish. Other than these very minor flaws, this is a gorgeous specimen for being nearly 40 years-old! I don't think he'll last long so if you're reading this, you better grab him now.

As you can see from the pictures, Superman’s “S” chest emblem has fallen off, but it IS in the bubble. This is typical of old Megos as the emblems were cheap paper stickers whose adhesive is prone to dry out, making them not sticky. Superman is Mint On The Card, but the card has a few defects. It is unpunched, meaning the peg hole “chad” is still intact, so this was probably never on a toy store shelf. More likely it was bought as dead stock when Mego went dead in the early 80’s. The card on the left side is beautiful, with only slight wear at the corners, a ding about midway down the card edge and some typical Palitoy print scuffs inherent in the original print. On the right, the card has a crease along where the bubble meets the card – the crease runs up from the bottom edge of the card approximately 4 inches. The Upper right hand corner has a bend as well about 1” down and 1” to the left of the corner. The bubble is firmly attached, but there are some areas where it has lifted a bit – this is typical of carded Megos as they were not carefully assembled by Artisans, but slapped together in factories by poorly paid workers. The bottom of the bubble has some litho lift between the two feet (and the bubble is a little warped there, also typical). On the lower right hand side of the bubble there is some additional lift that corresponds to the crease I described previously. The litho on the Palitoy WGSH cards was fairly substandard, even by 70’s terms (although their POTA cards were beautiful, who knows why?). This card is in nice shape overall and displays very well!

Mego Parkdale Novelty Canadian Carded Superman
    Item condition: --
    Ended: Jul 17, 201118:00:30 PDT
    Sold For US $491.01

Here is one of the harder to find Mego Superman pieces. Very nice Parkdale Novelty Superman on darn near mint card. Bubble is firmly sealed on all four sides and is crystal clear with no yellowing. The only flaws are two very small litho tears and an ever so slightly soft upper right corner. This will come with a custom made acrylic case for display.

    Supermanlogo Mego Superman Auction Results

    Item: PinPin Superman 1977 Carded

    Ended: Jul 28, 2011 12:54:28 PDT

    Bids: 14

    Result: US $ 152.50

Description: I'm calling this a C-6, with beautiful color and a clear, undamaged bubble box. The card has a slight forward bow on top (with no color loss) and 2 light water stains that are really only visible on the back, and relatively minor. Super small (1/16") tear just next to Superman's foot, and there is a sticker "Recommended for ages three and up" at the upper left. Has an overall sharp appearance.

Mego Superman on Card - 5th Version - Old Store Stock 1973
    "S" Emblem Missing From Chest
    Item condition: --

Wow, does this bring back memories! This Superman is the fifth version of the first six Superman action figures issued by Mego. It is a #1300 card type, dated 1973 and marked Mego, Made in the British Colony of Hong Kong. This was old store stock; the card is shop-worn and somewhat dirty, bearing some price sticker residue. What makes this carded figure a bit odd, however, is that it left the factory without the iconic "S" emblem on its outfit. The blister card has never been lifted to allow the emblem to be attached. When a kid saw this, he'd surely notice the missing "S" ...a factory mistake. This is probably why this one wasn't sold! There is a small dent (but not a split) in the blister plastic above the figure's head which could probably be bent back. Don't pass up this chance to acquire an odd version of this classic Mego figure! Thanks for looking!
