    Forgetten TV: Monster Squad

Monster Squad was a 1976 NBC saturday morning series that married the classic monsters with the 60's Batman series ( Stanley Ralph Ross who developed Monster Squad wrote 17 episodes of Batman).
In a nutshell, Museum night watchman Walter (a pre Love Boat Fred Grandy) is an aspiring criminologist, his crime computer brings to life the figures of Dracula (Henry Polic 2), Frank N Stein ( Mike Lane) and Bruce W Wolf (Buck Kartalian) who decide to be crime fighters.
Below is an episode in 3 parts, this originally aired on December 4 1976.

    Part 1

    Part 2

    Part 3
Despite it being a very memorable series, Monster Squad only aired for one year. Ideal Toys also cancelled their line of Monster Squad action figures, double whammy....

I watched every episode back in the day. Fun show! The only boot DVDs I've seen have only 4 episodes on them.

Fun fact: The vans of Monster Squad and Kids from CAPER are Evel Knievel's CB van. Also ALL of the bodies use EK's body too. Just look at the feet. I believe they have EK's belts on TOO.

I remember being really excited as a kid when I saw this show was coming out and then being dissappointed that the monsters were so goofy. I do remember a couple of years later when Love Boat premiered thinking there's Walt from the Monster Squad as one of the crew!

There was also a board game and a Frankenstein bop bag released for this series.

We got to choose group names for our kindergarten reading groups. I successfully lobbied the other kids in mine to call ours the Monster Squad, in homage to the show...

I just watched the first third...

Why did '70's TV executives hate children so?

Notice they have the same bendy body style as Evl Kneival figures from Ideal. Taking the same ideas Mego to reuse old molds...?

I remember watching it to as a kid, in the glory days of live action Saturday Morning programming. The Only Episodes, 4 total, I have seen lately, are the one ThatBatmanGuy mention in his post on either VHS or DVD. Fred later joined Cootier in Washington DC
