We had so many stores in my area when I was a kid. We had the standards like J.C. Penney's, Sears (3 of each of them within 20 minutes), and Macy's. A&S (Abraham & Strauss; 2 of them; I think they became Stern's in the late 80s) but they only carried a limited amount of toys and only at Christmas. T.S.S. (Time Square Stores later T.S.S./Seedman's. I heard it changed into a K-Mart sometime in the early 90s) which always had a great selection of Megos. In fact T.S.S. was the only store that I ever saw the Robin Hood, Super Knights, Waltons, and Wizard of Oz lines. Service Merchandise, Consumers Distributors, J.J. Newberry's, Woolworth's, Woolco, Great Eastern, Korvette's, Child World, Playworld, Gertz, Gimbel's, and so many more.

I used to see commercials for Two Guys and Kiddie City all the time but I never saw one of those stores.
