New swivel arm or Zica body?

I would like to make my own Mego customs but I am unsure which bodies to use. The new swivel arm ones that Doc Mego has seem really nice; my Brick figure is very cool. The Zica ones look much more sturdy and even more poseable.

The price for the Doc Mego are $5 and Zicas are twice as much at $10.

    What do you think?

Zica bodies are harder to come by and tend to sell out quick when they are in stock. I've got a mix and match of Doc, Cast-a-Way and Zica on my customs. I tend to reserve Zica bodies for the characters that I like to give a bit more heft since they look more built standing next to the others.... so guys like Superman, Thor and Shazam.

Swivel arms are a must for characters you want to have a bit more pose-ability... Spider-man. Or Gun toting characters like Phantom or Punisher. Dr Strange's funky hand gestures. Captain America with his Shield.

Hmm...I've bought both, and to be truthful, I like the ZICA bodies better.

    No offense Doc.

Doc's bodies are pretty good, but due to the tightness of the way the arms are strung, it's difficult to get them to pose straight out to the sides.

With the ZICA arms, since they are on a peg, that is not a problem.

I'd suggest restringing the Doc body with elastic cord. There are tutorials that cover that in the Custom section.

Doc's bodies are very sturdy, and don't break when you look at them wrong (cough, CTVT bodies, cough).

^^^ I thought the issues on the Doc Mego bodies was corrected, Frankenstein and Wolfman seem light years better than his older stuff.
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday.

Has anyone had any problems with the pelvis of Doc's new swivel arm bodies? I've had two pelvis split on me (one of which came with Brick). It didn't seem broken, as the inside pegs were intact, but just not holding together. I tried gluing one back together and it seems to be holding, so its a pretty easy fix.

Huh. I have one of the new bodies, with the swivel arm, and it's a bit difficult to get the arms to go straight out to the side.

Ok, you CAN put the arms straight out to the sides. I just did it.

However....when I did it, that little metal hook thing that holds the rubber band tends to come to the outside.

    I still suggest restringing though.
