You had a heart attack and didn't know it? How tough are you, man? I'm griping if my allergies act up.

Take care of yourself, Mikey--that 25% is nothing to play with.

He said I had another heart attack sometime earlier - he cant tell when but said over 4 months ago.
The doc said that artery is totally destroyed and dead.

He also said a normal person uses 65% of their heart ... After these 2 attacks I only use 25%.
Two heart attacks and 25% use of your heart, can't think of a better reason to give up smoking. Be strong, I know how hard it is, but I've managed to give it up for almost 10 months now

Holy crap Mike! That is some scary stuff dude. I am so glad to hear that everything is better now considering what may have been. May you continue to improve and get even better.

So what was the determining factor? From what I most always hear it is contributed to a persons diet. Too much intake of junk foods etc.

Did they give you a lecture on that or was that even an issue for you? I am just curious to know as I wish to try and avoid any and all of the pitfalls that I have control over.

The doc didn't seem to stress much about diet.

    His concern was the smoking.

Once I convinced him I really quit (he seemed like he didn't believe me for a little while) he centered mostly on pills I need to take.

Right now i'm taking about 11 pills a day because of the heart attack

So he didn't make much of a deal about diet.... He didn't he complain I was too heavy and need to lose weight (i'm 6' - 280 pounds)

His big thing was take the pills, don't do anything strenuous -- and DON'T SMOKE

Wow. You can fit two of me in you, Mike...
    I could be your Mini-Mike...

But certainly glad to hear you kicked the smoking habit.
My Dad was a heavy smoker and died of lung cancer. In the end, there was nothing left of him.

That is very unusual based on what I have heard from most people in the past. Let us hope that your Doctor is right and it is just the smoking and nothing to do with diet.

Best of luck to you Mike and here is to staying in great health my friend.
