Anyone remember having one of these? In my early teenage years i played this game for hours! I can't even remember what sparked my memory of it a few weeks ago, but after that, the search was on . I couldn't remember who made it or what the exact name was, but after a few minutes on Google..... there it was.... Mattel Electronics Basketball. Thankfully they are readily available on eBay. The prices are all over the place on them though. I found a couple loose ones in played with condition that i could have had for under $10 but i eventually ran across this NOS one that i scored for under $20 shipped. Can't wait until it arrives and i can relive that part of my past again .

Yup, they did re-issue it. And it was an excellent re-issue! Uses two AA batteries now, and has an option to turn off the sound so one can play it without the loud bleeps annoying others. The re-issues are so good that it killed off the vintage market. I actually bought a vintage one back in the 1990s and it cost me $40 mint-in-box. Had a loose Football I scored for maybe $2.50 and sold it on eBay for $80. Then the re-issues came out and the market balanced out. One can get a vintage for about the same price as the re-issue.
I had the original as well back in the 1970s. Walked to school playing it like crazy! Got so good I could play it with one hand! Love it!Comment
