    Gypsies, Tramps and Mego

You know here and in my other life at the MegoMuseum, I've often ignored the Cher toy line which is odd because a) She was huge in the 1970s and b)Cher was a huge freaking deal for Mego. It's a glaring oversight seeing as I've never known a world without Cher and I promise to give her (and girl's toys in general) a little more exposure in the future.

I have clear memories as a child of laying on the floor watching Sonny and Cher. The only girl dolls I had were Zira and Uhura. But I did play with my sisters Dorothy Hamill doll.

I have that song. And my friend Angel had this playset. But she didn't have the Sonny doll so all we did was change Cher's outfits and sang our version of the Vamp song

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

I've always wanted to start a Cher wing in my collection, but there are so many Cher collectors, the prices are more than I'm willing to pay. I think there should be a Mego-collectors only rule for all Megos

Imagine if Mego lasted until say the 90s and we got Cher's outfit from "If I Could Turn Back Time"

Very undervalued line. Love that Sonny figure. Best Mego Stache Ever.
                  I like toys.
