Right now there are only 4 really good Women's teams....USA, Brazil, Germany, and Sweden. Japan is pretty good too but I think just a bit behind the top 4. Then it drops off dramatically from there.

Personally, I think Brazil has the best talent but I wouldn't be surprised to see the USA win it especially after losing the last World Cup. Hope Solo got benched in favor of Brianna Scurry who is a really good goal keeper but is out of her prime and not nearly as good as Hope Solo. Apparently, the USA coach thought it would be a good idea to bench Hope because Scurry has had a lot of success against Brazil...needless to say Brazil won, the US coach was fired and Hope is back in as top goalkeeper. Should be an interesting showdown.

I rushed to watch Sunday morning's matches to cleanse my palate of the bitter, bitter taste left from Saturday's USA match (I'm looking at you, Hector )

England looking good to get out of the group but if they don't beat Japan on Tuesday it could be Germany next and it will all end in tears.

Japan has a really good women's team and a tie won't move them into the #1 slot. Maybe France will pull off a shocker but I doubt it so start planning for Germany. The U.S. really only has Sweden to worry about and needs to get out as the #1 seed. Otherwise they will be playing Brazil in the quarterfinals. They can beat Brazil but would be a much better match up to see them play each other in the finals.
