    Oy vey - enough already!!!

I can't tell you how many times I've seen these two lots get posted on ebay over the past two years! And the seller just doesn't seem to get the message that they are priced well over market value, and that no one will ever buy them at these prices!! They must have more than exceeded the selling price by now in auction listing fees alone!!

Check his negative comments in his Ebay rating. The last 2 are telling as to his common sense, he doesn't even understand how an auction works. If you are selling 2 items (i.e. a pair) then the quantity is "1" not "2". He then berates the buyers like they didn't understand.

I had this happen one time on concert tickets. The guy was selling a pair of Van Halen tickets, auction was clearly for both side by side seats, but the idiot listed the quantity as "2", so me and another guy both won, but it was only "1" pair.

    As mentioned, questionable feedback.

As far as the listing cost, it is a store listing and may be set up as a GTC (Good Till Cancelled) which will automatically relist the item. The cost is only 20 cents per month so at $2.40 a year it's not that much money. This is why you see stuff like this listed on the hopes that someone that doesn't know the true value will hit the BIN.

If I'm not mistaken these folks used to set up at local shows, they thought a loose Mork doll was gold wrapped in chocolate.

Sometimes I email these sellers to deal a lower price. Some are actually willing to deal, but most give me a sob story about all they spent for this item, etc.., basically that they were idiots for spending so much, OR the value they anticipated bottomed out.

It's like the guys at comic shops who use to quote you Guide prices.., then sat on those comics for years.

Granted it was good for the industry to maintain generally-accepted valuation, but eBay will always be a buyers market.

I just say, 'I'll go buy it from the guy selling at half your price', then give him the auction number of the half-priced lot..
