    Character Gumball Machines

Did anyone else have these as a kid? I ran across one on ebay and rememebered a friend of mine had Fred Flintstone. I remember every time I'd go over to his house to play I'd get a gumball (which weren't that great if I recall correctly). Just a nice kid memory.

I had a Flintstone one was I was a kid. I have 2 of them now. When I worked w/ the after school group, and I had cartoon and comics week, I used to ask them classic cartoon trivia questions. Right answers got gumballs. If they could sing the Scooby Doo, Flintstone or Spider-man theme song, 5 gumballs. One year, 6 kids teamed up to do the Scooby song. They each got 5 gumballs.

And no one bought me refills, either. But I have them now!

I had the Mickey Mouse machine, and no one would buy me the refills either.

Don't know what happened to all of the pennies that accumulated in it. I suspect that they were 'donated' to the family penny bottle (which was a 5 gallon glass water bottle.)
