    Muhammad Ali Mego Bop Bag

Hi everyone , first post here but thought i'd come straight to where the experts were.

I'm looking for more information on the item from the title.
    It's also featured here

It was acquired early 80's in Texas, more so as an Ali collector not as a mego or toy piece. At the time I was told that it was produced but not signed off on by Ali so they weren't ever offered at retail. Obviously that ad (potentially) puts that into question. However there doesn't seem to be much other evidence of it at all that I've come across through a fair bit of research.

It's in original package which is not in great condition, but it's clear the piece hasn't been removed or inflated (it appears to actually be yellow not white or cream).

Can anyone verify any of the original story? Does anyone else own one or seen one for sale or otherwise? Help!

Any and all information is greatly appreciated, so thank you ahead of time.

That story is likely just conjecture, as the catalog page suggests, they were absolutely offered at retail.

Buyers ordered lightly on the Ali brand and as a result the stuff is quite uncommon. While there were collectors for dolls and action figures in the 70s, a small percentile would buy and save a bop bag adding to the rarity. So the real answer is not that they got recalled, it's just that not many were made.

Oh and yeah, I've seen one or two in my travels but carded romulans pop up with more frequency.
