Plaid Stallions 1978 Berwick Toys Catalog

Most North Americans have probably never heard of UK based Berwick toys before but that should change because they created a lot of fun and inspired toys for the English market.

Berwick's main items seem to be role play such as their line of play suits and games. 1978 saw the introduction of a toy called "Mudd" which seems similiar to slime and some really oddball Batman items.

    "To the Bat Board, Robin".

That is one strange looking Bionic Woman face mask.

That kid w/ the Bat Board looks too old to be playing w/ it, and that is the UGLIEST Bionic Woman mask I have ever seen!

Batman uses the Batboard to surf out to the dead ganster bodies constantly found floating in Gotham Harbor.

Coo, but odd stuff. I seem to recall seeing those Power Shields advertised in a Heroes World ad somewhere...

Did they distribute some of Ben Cooper's costumes, or did they just mimic the designs?

Berwick seemed to make their own costumes like the infamous Dalek playsuit, Captain Britain and Tom Baker. I've never side by side compared them to Ben Cooper stuff though.

Wow, I would have sworn that there was some sort of relationship between Ben and Berwick. They soooo much alike even down to putting a bat symbol on Bats mask.

Wasn't that Bat Shield released in the States with a yellow background and different graphics? I thought AHI or someone did a very similar product.
    WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.
