I'm thinking of doing a line of custom mego wrestlers from the 70's and maybe the EARLY 80's. If you could pick the 5 wrestlers from this line, what figures would they be??? It MUST include at least one Luchador!

SC
I don't know any Luchadors from that time except Mil Máscaras (not sure if he counts)
My picks would be .....
Billy Graham
Andre the Giant
Cheif Jay Strongbow
Ivan Putski
Pedro Morales
Bob Backlund
Ivan Putski!!! Wow, that takes me back!
George "the animal" Steele
whatabout Captain Lou Albano?
who was the guy with the sleeper hold? something about a small sheet or cloth laid over the head??
S.D. "special delivery" Jones

Captain Lou sucked as a wrestler he made his fame as a great manager......
Interesting note about Superstar Billy Graham; He was always my favorite, no question. However, I think I'm the only SSBG fan who liked the karate gimmick more than his original persona. There was something about the shaved head and that incredibly fake martial arts stuff... His "Karate Chop" finish was hilarious. The way he'd stand over the guy in the karate stance, doing katas or whatever... I don't exactly know why, but for some reason, I found that version of SSBG way more entertaining in a comedic way. The way he tried to be so serious about it... The harder he tried to be a "real" martial artist, the more fake it came off and the funnier it became. His promos too, were different. He seemed so intense in some and so aloof in others... I guess that's what drugs do to you.
Graham for me as a kid was intimidating. Built like a brick and talked good smack. he had some great wars with Sammartino and Pedro Morales......he hated Mil Mascaras cause he wouldn't sell with him.
