1979 Alien - the FIRST repro box?

Thought I would show this off real quick.
many years in the making...all the way from fighting slow computers to build the artwork...getting it printed at an affordable level...finding the right mounting board...

Now that my experiment is a physical object that I can manipulate and examine, I can now concentrate on finishing the artwork and go all out to make a true 1:1 reproduction.

I do have the red insert worked out too, it's just not pictured.

I have always loved the 1979 Kenner Alien in his box and believe I was the one who petitioned hard for the "Plaid Stallions" card of the 1979 Alien.

It really has been a labor of love - and I don't even have a complete Alien fig since mine is missing the dome. Plus, my Alien is all loose and crap - gonna disassemble him and see what I can do.
I always wanted to restore the box; but restore was pretty much out of the question....and I have never seen one reproduced.

The top flap; the one which is over the Alien's head and closes the box - I branded along the lip which closed the box - "reproduction reproduction" all the way across the lip. Plus, in the pic with Brett, the word reproduction is mixed into the background. Ya gotta look to see it.

I made the final changes to the artwork and uploaded to my printer guy.
I am waiting to hear on printing costs.

This is just one of those posts that I can't stop looking at. That thing is SO damn beautiful, Chad. It really, really is. You are truly gifted, buddy. There's just something about seeing replica packaging like this that brings me back to actually being in the toy store back then and seeing the actual toy...
