    Deep Purple fans in here???

    Any Deep Purple fans here?
I do reviews for magazines and web blogs. I like this one so much I figured I'd post it in here...

I got this for my birthday today. It is a double DVD set of new Deep Purple live footage at Montreux celebrating the night of the 40th Festival.
This is awesome! This is the reason why Ian Gillan is one of idols!
Steve Morse's guitar playing and Ian Paice's drums sound incredible. Roger Glover is still one the best bass players by far and you can't even tell Jon Lord is gone with Don Airey on keyboards. Deep Purple comes together hard in this double DVD set. I keep playing it over and over.
The second DVD is a bonus DVD of Deep Purple at the Hard Rock Cafe, up close and personal. It is pretty close let me tell you.
The bonus interviews are awesome also. They explain why Jon Lord exited the band. It was all on good terms.
Their new album, "Rapture of The Deep" is unbelievable. You can hear some live cuts on here. If you are Deep Purple fan, pick this up!!

I've only recently gotten into Deep Purple. Definitely like their sound, but I don't know much about the band and the only stuff I've heard is on the Greatest Hits CD I picked up a few weeks ago. I like all the tunes on that disc.

Cool review. Wouldn't mind checking that DVD set out.

(I've only recently discover how much I like Iron Maiden and Dio, as well. Don't know why I passed over bands like up 'til now because I've alway enjoyed heavy metal and hard rock.)

I'm not a huge fan, but I really like "Machine Head" and "Perfect Strangers"

The only song I know is Smoke On The Water.

The first chords to the song are the ones that I think everyone learns how to play quickly when they first pick up a guitar. Great song and great group.

One of my favorite 70's bands, nothing pumps you up more for a night of hard partying than cranking up Deepest Purple.

Cool. I knew there was a reason I liked you!! Deep Purple rules!! Awesome music to crank up before going to do something that you need to be pumped up. I used to crank up Machine head before my band would play a big show at the Annex or the Barrymore Theatre.

Wow Demon and Hulk I've always felt the same about Purple. Here's another sleeper band that I also like to crank up for the pump from the same era Nugent's Dukes

P.S. Paul, but the only think I like about rap is watching you dance around the pole at a stripclub

Wow...no Ritchie Blackmore (the man in Black) on Guitar? I think Deep Purple is one shade lighter without him.
