Not too sure why WV should be ranked ahead of OSU - they have an easy schedule and lost to S Florida -currently 27th or so. (yes, when they played them they were 18 but that was guess work) We lost to Illinois - #19.
They played 3 teams that were ranked at the time of play (and went 2-1) - we played 4 (4-0)

What was Illinois ranked when OSU lost to them at home? Hmmmm......and oh yeah, OSU had a REAL tuff schedule this year. Yeah right.....

LSU vs. ___________ in the BCS championship game.

Wouldn't it be something if LSU gets caught looking past Arkansas, loses, and then loses in the SEC title game to either Tennessee or GA?

Who plays for the national championship then?

Everyone already has LSU in the title game, but if I remember correctly from the past, LSU has a problem with choking and beating themselves.

(Can you tell I'm not a big LSU fan? Sorry antiquetiger)

I'd say the current ranking is more important - the earlier in the season the less reliable it is because less is known about how good a team is.
Other wise they wiould just give the trophy to the preseason #1 and be done with it,

OSU certainly does not have one of the toughest schedules in NCAA football - but definitly harder than WV.

I don't have LSU in the NC game yet. LSU should beat ARK because they have not much passing game. If Tenn beats Ky, LSU should handle up on them in the SECCG. If Tenn loses to Ky, LSU more than likely will not get to the NC game because we will most likely not beat GA at this point.

Casey Dick passed for 200 yards and 4 touchdowns yesterday against Mississippi State - a team that was doing pretty well this season. He can do it - the question is will he?

Wonder how many times Miles will get asked this week if he's taking the Michigan job?

Let's just see if he pulls a Saban and swears he won't and 2 days later he's announced as the new head coach

Unfortunately, taking a loss late in the season is much worse than taking one early on. You don't get bumped down in the rankings until you lose and then you have to wait for someone ahead of you to lose before you move up.

Looking at what has happened, I think LSU has the best shot at winning the whole thing.

Don't downplay WV though. They are good, really good. Maryland is not a great team but they did beat Rutgers and Boston College...even gave Florida State a good run for the money on Saturday but WV absolutely beat the snot out of the Terps....and as scenarios start to play out, I see LSU and WV in the Championship.

I still think LSU has the best chances of taking the entire championship this year since they do have the best team in the country regardless of the one loss.

LSU is playing horrible right now. Their last 5 or 6 games have all been close ones. They could easily be 7-4 right now. Alot of people around here are blaming it on the coaches. LSU does have the most talented players in football this year and should have won some of those close games by a landslide, but instead are winning by the skin of their teeth. Alot of this is due to their strength of schedule, playing five top 20 teams, it takes alot out of you. We have key players playing hurt, key players out for the season. LSU looks like they are playing street ball right, winning on shear talent, with bad coaching decisions.

This is not the same team that beat VT and SC (both #9 teams)and Miss St (who has come on strong lately) easily two months ago.

Like I said before, if Tenn beats Ky this week, LSU has a good chance to make it to the NC game by beating ARK and Tenn, but if Tenn loses to KY, LSU has to face GA (the best team in the country right now I think) in the SECCG, and I don't think LSU can beat them right now.

Man, did OU ever rack up a bunch of injuries in the Texas Tech game. Depending on who can get back up to game-speed, the O-State game this Saturday is looking like a toss-up. If we lose that, Texas will probably take the Big Twelve South.
