    Super Heroic Goodies

By the late 1970's, Remco was making a heroic amount of comic book merchandising including logical items like the CSF BatCopter and inflatable Hulk muscles to the truly head scratching stuff like the Hulk Helicopter and Utility Bely. Check out the 1979 Remco Catalog.

If it makes you feel any better Brian, I think The Mirage was one of the many lame villains killed by Scourge in that Captain America arc in the mid-80s.

I had many of these toys, the highlight being the energized heroes. I already had Spider-Man, but for Christmas 1979 I received Superman, Batman, and the Hulk. Oh and the 12" Mego Spider-Man. Goes to show how Remco was mowing Megos grass. They beat out Mego 3 to 1 for my parent's Christmas dollars! I have some pics somewhere, I need to dig those up.

Great addition there, even with the lame-Hulk accessories. The musles were inspired though. I always wanted a set.

I had a Batman Utility belt but I doubt it lasted a weekend, I remember everything being pretty fragile. Every girl on my street had the Wonder Woman set, I wish they still made them.

The only Remco item I ever owned was a Singing Mimi Doll

I really would have like to have owned the sounds effects machine.

I really wanted the Hulk Muscles as a kid. The only time I ever saw them was at Sears, but the box was all torn up.

I should also mention that I often used my Remco Energized Hulk as a stand-in for Mego's short "puny" version. My Mego Hulk was often the "in-between" phase between Banner and the Hulk, and for some reason, my stories usually involved Banner being trapped in-between the two stages. I first used Mego Fonzie, then Luke Duke for Banner.

That Hulk helicopter set would have been cooler if they had a mini Hulk figure that you could somehow try to "jump" to take it down.
