Not Mego My very first sculpt (Non Mego)

Hey kids this is my first try at sculpting, I am trying to work my way up to Mego head sculpts but for now I did this fella. Now this is the first time I have ever done a complete sculpt and only the second time I have ever sculpted anything, that wasn't out of Play-Dough any how, so I figured I would start my work on a non human first. I used an exacto knife and the end of a paint brush as my sculpting tools. Here is the original art work I did a few years ago, it was based on my love of Jack Kirby and Mike Mignola monsters, the idea behind the character is that he is a Soda Monster and he appears by burrowing underground where ever there is soda and he steals and drinks it leaving a large whole and no soda, any how here's the original picture:

So here was the sculpt fresh out of the oven

And here is the finished painted product:

So let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

I love it, every time I've tried to sculpt a head (mostly 3 3/4 line) it just comes out awful, but this guy look neat, especially the eyes.
He (she?) reminds me of Kang (?) that little alien head thing that lived in the robot from TMNT

Now how cool is that! The paint job really brings your sculpt to life too.

It is so much fun! I just like looking at it and thinking, "Yesterday that was nothing but a lump of clay, and now... well now it is a lump of clay with a face and tentacles!" Thanks everyone for the more then kind words. I will hopefully be able to keep moving forward until I can start making heads in a more human variety. I think I will order some dental tools from eBay so I can have more range in my sculpts. I am interested in (One day) making a mold and doing kind of short runs of small figures and heads, with the way this fellas tentacles are he would probably be really hard to cast right?

The mold/cast of this fellow would be easy enough methinks.
