Why do you suppose Kenner never updated their 3 3/4 Darth Vader?

I love all the vintage Star Wars figures, but one that always seemed lackluster to me was Darth Vader. His flattened face sculpt and plastic cape just never did it for me.

We got so many different variations of Luke, Han, Leia, and the droids...heck, even Lando Calrissian had three different versions. I can't believe they never introduced an improved version of the main villain, especially by ROTJ, when Kenner was using cloth for capes and robes.

A cloth caped vintage Darth would have been awesome.

The same reason Mego never stopped putting oven mits on Batman, they sold a bajillion and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
